I had an enjoyable time teaching a single free workshop at the Martial Arts Expo in Coventry. Students from my club showed in support in helping to introduce CCMA concepts to interested attendees.
The session focused on the Vagabond Warriors cross-training programme. This programme is designed to help give martial artists direction and context with their training. We taught various different exercises to demonstrate coaching and sparringfeedback loops. These included progressive sparring as a warm-up, “The Switch” on the focus mitts and other self-correcting exercises to improve performance. All ranges were worked and we also explained adaptive combinations.
Big thanks to all those who attended my workshop at TMAX. Your support was very much appreciated. This was the lowest profile appearance I have shown in the history of my teaching at these types of event, which seems odd given that it is closest it has ever been to the venue. I taught at Seni for several years, being involved in projects such as the promotion of my second DVD for Summersdale Media and later the promotion of my seminar at the European Martial Arts Festival in Disneyland Paris. I switched to Kwoklyn Wan at his first live event in 2009, The Martial Arts Festival, where I ran two workshops and was even ran a stand. The following year his event became The Martial Arts Show and I have continued to teach at these to the present date.
