Building the boxer

Hour two of my client's second Boxing course was split into technical training and, upon his request, strength training. During the first half we continued to work on his defence and countering. Sparring rounds included fighting out of the corner. Strength training concerned his posterior chain. Our main lift was the conventional deadlift, which he trained for 3 x sets of six repetitions following two warm-up sets using the hex bar. This was followed by 3 x sets of 10 repetitions of goblet squats to help further fire up his glutes and open up his hips. We finished the lesson with some foundational work on pull-ups.
