This exercise, if performed correctly, should work specific muscles to better train lowline takedowns and counter lowline takedowns. It also has benefits for developing the core base for firing off most explosive movements required in combat sports and combatives training. Obvious qualities for this quirky form of exercising over using a standard piece of gym equipment are 1. Uneven weight distribution, which is closer to the feeling you get when fighting another human being. 2. It works core stability. 3. You are able to perform all of this on the move for a virtual indefinite length of time - how much road have you got? 4. Free amusement for the family! Training critique: I could probably do a better job on checking my form next time - the back should be straight at all times.
