11.10.2022 The second hour of security client's CPD course on self-protection brought us to incidental combinations, restrictive positions, transitioning through postures and offline strikes. We also addressed walking whilst striking. A major point I try to establish on is the importance of making combative movements natural extensions of everyday actions. This is how the pre-emptive strikes can be concealed should an attacker breach the fence and also allows for the in-fight movements to flow better. There is nothing wrong with simply walking when striking. Even some boxing styles from peek-a-boo to the modern Cuban style make use of regular walking mechanics. In order for hard skills to be more transferrable, we should look to improving and refining natural movements or draw connections to other natural movements i.e. comparing skimming a stone to the power delivery of throwing a strike. https://clubbchimera.com/services/
