16.03.2023 My couple client's MMA course reached hour five as we moved into testing ranges with new weapons. I felt it was important after last week's 3 x 5 minute rounds of pure MMA that we isolate some areas a bit more. After some conditioning exercises, we moved into 6 x 2 minute rounds of boxing with MMA gloves and then shoot-boxing (boxing with wrestling clinches). After the sparring, we used the circular training method to train certain areas. For example, I noticed my clients getting the anaconda grip from standing but not being able to turn into a takedown. Typically, under full MMA or submission grappling rules they would be able to turn the hold into an actual submission. However, we are restricting submissions to better focus on blending takedown and clinching techniques with boxing. I taught a side waistlock takedown, which comes from Greco-Roman Wrestling and provides a decent follow-up technique. https://clubbchimera.com/services/
