Observations & Signs (diary entry)

We looked at basic observations regarding a situation, including how a possible threat might be dressed whether they were in a group, signs of substance use or intoxication, signs of mental illness and potential weapon concealment. We discussed real life cases, including ones that my client had experience and I had experienced where some of these factors were major indications of violence. I explained the history baggy clothing within fashion and the criminal element used to conceal weapons, and the presence of incidental weapons. We also discussed personal observations in a situation such as verbal and physical capabilities to handle said potential threat. Using Joe Saunders' Managing Violence model we further unpacked body language cues. These can reveal likely signs of an imminent threat, especially if several of these indications are present. The group dynamic came into play again, leading to discussions on possible solutions such as moving an individual away from an audience or the support of their friends. https://clubbchimera.com/services/
