01.08.2023 Hour nine of my client's current Muay Thai course before we switch to Boxing. After a warm-up that involved 3 x 3 minute rounds of light sparring - set exchanges, clinch only and freestyle - we focused on the muay mat theme. Our first two combinations looked at range manipulation. We used the muay mat strategy of dominating in close with punches - jab, shovel hook to the liver, hook to the head - before creating some distance for a low kick. Distance was created by either jumping back or shoving the opponent. The last two combinations were set up using a series of feints. Initially this was a mixture of teep range finding and jabbing. Jab feinting transitioned into a legitimate double jab in the first of these two combinations followed by a cross and a low kick. Whereas the first two combinations put emphasis on all lead hand punches before dropping the low kick, the third overall combination transitioned from a rear punch to a rear kick. The last combination used a fake jab to set up a rear uppercut, lead hook, cross and a pendulum kick to the rear leg. The pendulum action sends the front leg around the opponent at 45 degrees and attacks the usually less conditioned largely weight bearing rear leg. https://clubbchimera.com/services/
