10.01.2025 Hour eight of my Cotswold Karate teacher's latest course on Submission Grappling and he chose to explore sweeps. Rather than isolating one sweep in particular I decided to look more from positions and creating constraints-led games with his focus on getting a sweep. We used the following 5-minute rounds:

  1. Scissor guard (sweep) versus chest-to-chest or disengage

  2. Butterfly guard (sweep) versus chest-to-chest or disengage

  3. Ditto

  4. Ditto

  5. Free-sparring

The emphasis on the butterfly guard came from us discovering that my client needed to work more on mid-range guard concepts. https://clubbchimera.com/services/
