Wrestling Personal Training
Tonight saw the second lesson for client's first course in Wrestling Personal Training. He is focusing on upper body grappling, which loosely fits under the Greco-Roman banner or, at least, shares similar rule-set restrictions. We recapped from the previous class and then focused on two-on-one and under-hook based tactics.

Structured Rounds
Round 1 - Warming up with collar and elbow ties. These are semi-live drills where we work to control the head and arm, checking posture and keeping movement fluid.
Round 2 - Wrist control. Live practice involving breaking posture and control whilst restricted to gripping and breaking wrist-grips.
Round 3 - Two-on-one versus defence. My client's objective was to get the two-on-one position as I fought against it whilst showing him possible exposures to takedowns and taking the back.
Round 4 - Head and arm wrestling. We both fought to control and takedown each other using collar ties and arm-controls.
We then broke to drill pummelling over-hooks and under-hooks. From here I explained the objective to get a deep under-hook and demonstrated the throw by to take the back.
Round 5 - We pummelled to get double under-hooks, break posture and take the back.
