23.05.23023 Tuesday morning continued my teaching consultancy with Athena School of Karate as we stayed on the intricacies of the Thai clinch. Most of the lesson was concerned with breaking posture through angling and timing. We looked at the same side and opposite side knee-bumps whilst pulling the head down and pushing the arm up. It's a great progression from using the "steering wheeling" basis of constant move to disrupt. Next we brought in the curved knees and timed an opponent's response with the knee-bump disruption. This can lead nicely into a sweep. We then moved onto some hold variations. To use Sean Fazen's terminology, we looked at the crab-cracker holder and how to counter it with a cross-face. This was used to set up spear and diagonal knee strikes. Next lesson we should follow on with knee-bump counters and counters to the cross-face as well as work with the elbows.   https://clubbchimera.com/services/
