Adaptive Children's Self Protection for Students with Chiari Malformation (hour 6)
A child with Chiari Malformation needs self-protection that respects the head, neck, spine, balance, and fatigue. Standard martial arts drills often miss that point.
This case study looks at an adapted course for a youth student who needed practical safety skills without throws, strikes to the head, hard falls, neck cranks, or impact sparring. The aim was clear. Build confidence, improve decision-making, and teach safe escape skills within medical limits.

Constraints Led Muay Thai Sparring: Different Questions in Different Rounds
Sparring should solve problems, not rehearse bad habits at higher speed. This session with my veteran client used a constraints-led approach. The lesson ran across 12 rounds. Each pair of rounds had a specific rule. Each rule forced a different answer:close-range control, distance management, disguised entries, ring position, clinch entry, and limited-weapon tactics.

Sixth Lesson MMA Lab Jab to Scramble Resets Through Constraints Led Games
Advanced training should sharpen decisions, not just add more techniques.
The sixth lesson in this block kept that principle at the centre. We worked through 12 rounds of constraints-led games, each one built around a common fight problem. The rules were tight. The feedback was immediate. Students had to solve the problem under pressure, then swap roles and learn the other side.

A Collision Free Self Protection Course for Children How to Build Soft and Hard Skills Without Pressure Testing
Some children cannot be trained through contact, impact, or pressure-testing. That does not mean they cannot learn self-protection. Hour three with my child client forced a useful problem onto the mat. He has a medical condition that prevents him from taking part in activities where collision is a risk. That removes a large part of how I usually test self-defence. It does not remove the subject.
