07.10.2023 I was booked to teach a two-part comprehensive self-protection programme to FarmED just outside of Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire. The clients were a wide range of ages with diverse backgrounds. These included former track-runners, ex-police force and, of course, agricultural educators. My booking was connected to private teaching of a group of teenagers prior to their travelling abroad and my first year teaching at Kingham Hill School. My self-protection courses are always evolving, progressing and adapting. This current incarnation incorporates more material from my Managing Violence soft skills, especially regarding social violence, as well as more information on hybrid predators, scaling responses and tactical escape from other courses. However, the core principles and content remain the same. The first 4-5 hours include the following material: Self-protection definitions Violence classifications Different types of offender and their behaviours Attitude Situational awareness Controlling fear Tactical escape Setting boundaries Pre-emptive striking The Fence Referencing/datum-setting Incidental combinations Transitioning through postures Regaining the initiative https://clubbchimera.com/services/
