The tenth and final hour of my client's second boxing course brought together most of what we have been covering. This was done over a series of 12 rounds. Using the footwork, timing and some of the punches we have explored through Cuban boxing influences as well as our dives into both the cross-arm and Philly shell guards, we tried to present a cohesive new structure. The results were very pleasing. My client has much better defensive movements both his footwork and upper body options. He can circle in and out of attacks, coordinating this movement with effective jabs and lead hooks. His forward, backward and lateral footwork has vastly improved, especially his ability to judge ranges and create patterns. Angling off and understanding how to work from the blind side, the power side, and with and against southpaws, are now regular parts of his training regime. He is slipping, rolling, catching, blocking and parrying more efficiently. From this point, his counter-punching options have broadened. Cuban boxing provided some swift reaction behaviours off the aforementioned defences and the cross-arm guard has added a greater appreciation for using defensive momentum. The cross arm guard has further provided safer ways to intercept and close down an opponent. Along with the Philly shell this guard has given my client more baiting options too. The Philly shell has allowed my client to fade and pull from attacks. Coupled with some the swift, intelligent Cuban footwork training, my client is better at creating false patterns. All three approaches - Cuban, Cross-Arm and Philly - have all given my client a larger canvas to create his own traps. Round 1 - Footwork only (working ranges and using circling, linear, V-steps and L-steps) Round 2 - Defence only using evasive techniques only (slips, rolls and pulls) with footwork Round 3 - Jabs only Round 4 - Jab/cross only Round 5 - Cross-arm guard defensive structure Round 6 - Cross-arm guard attacks Round 7 - Cross-arm guard attacks and counter-attacks Round 8 - Philly shell defensive structure Round 9 - Philly shell attacks Round 10 - Philly shell attacks and counter-attacks Round 11 - Free-sparring Round 11 - Free-sparring https://clubbchimera.com/services/
