A trinity of traps

Hour six of my couple clients' Submission Grappling course brought us onto using the trinity of the arm-bar, the omoplata (leg shoulder lock) and the leg triangle choke together. We primarily focused on their set up and how each one can feed into the other as a contingency plan.
We used the following 3-minute sparring games:
6 x neck, neck, shoulder - this game pits the top player's goal of achieving chest-to-chest against the bottom player's objective of hooking their leg over the neck or behind the shoulder
The above games are designed to encourage targeting these three moves and also transition between them. However, the top player's objective wasn't great. It taught them to get to a safety position, but that isn't the most proactive of places outside of beginning a progressive through guard pass. We switched to top player simply passing guard whilst the bottom player began with a submission hold on of their choosing with the objective of either getting the tap or getting any of the other two submission holds.
3 x 3-minutes - complete submission or transition to another submission hold vs pass guard
We finished with some semi-live flow submission transitioning.
