The second lesson in Tudor Hall School's course discussed awareness in the theory section and we layered on tactical escape in the physical skills.
We went back over tactical escape with initial exiting responses, followed by the protecting the back game. This was layered on with palm strikes the shoulders. Using the shoulders as targets in a live game is a safer way introduce striking under pressure. They drilled target familiarisation by touching each other's faces afterwards. Next, we looked at wrist releases escalating the severity of a situation and use of the voice.
During the theory side, I handed out a leaflet on the Cooper Colour Code and breaking down situational awareness. We also performed an exercise whereby everyone focused on getting better acquainted with their intuition. This exercise comes from Rory Miller's "Living in the Deep Brain".
