Boxing at close range

Hour five of my client's second Boxing course brought us onto working in the clinch and, more specifically, closing the distance. We will expand upon this in future lessons. However, for tonight I was mainly interested in working on how to access or prevent opponents from accessing this range. We also went over a couple of strength exercises taught in the previous lesson.


3-minute rounds:


  1. one-for-one at close range sparring (handling constant exchanges)

  2. two-for-two at close range sparring (developing from the previous round)

  3. keeping distance vs closing distance

  4. ditto
