Boxing Combat Conditioning

Hour seven of my client's Boxing course was all about improving overall fitness. We completed 8 x 3 minute rounds on the focus mitts and heavy bag with active rest.


  1. Footwork and head movement focused round - working through ranges (out, edge and long)

    Active rest - Constant flow punching

  2. Jab focused round

    Active rest - Light abdominal resistance training

  3. Jab/cross focused round

    Active rest - bobbing and weaving

  4. Jab/cross/hooks focused round

    Active rest - Press-up punching

  5. Jab/cross/hooks/uppercuts focused round

    Active rest - Sit-up punching round

  6. Jab/cross/hooks/uppercuts/shovel hooks/overhand focused round

    Active rest - Hold lunge and punch heavy bag

  7. Freestyle combinations, including body shots

    Active rest - 5kg plate circles

  8. Heavy bag burnout
