Butterfly Guard Entries & Exits (diary entry)

27.07.2023 The continuation my early morning client's limited series of Submission Grappling lessons revised previous material and applied more pressure to the butterfly guard. However, we also brought in links to other guards. Warm-up this time included rolls into and butterfly guard as well as the sport-specific callisthenics and dynamic stretching. We looked at a backbreaker submission using the double underhooks and also used this position to move to the X-guard. From this position we executed the standard X-guard sweep. Then we looked at moving from half-guard to butterfly guard. Next we addressed posturing up where we used the double-leg shoot from dog-fight position. The lesson finished 2 x 5 minute rounds of specific sparring. This sparring was performed in a progressive resistance manner. https://clubbchimera.com/services/
