05.04.2023 With 1.5 hours to work through our Muay Thai clinch material, we were able to revise much of our previous lesson content. We began just getting a feel for the rhythm of unbalancing opponents, becoming sensitive to weight distribution and timing whilst clinching. This began with the simple v-step angle work leading to knees and sweeps. From here we went to the sweep counter using a following around action as well as a knee bump. Then I introduced a type of leg-framing technique off a curved knee strike. This allows for space to throw elbows and punches. Finally, we revised the crab-cracker countering sequences into cross-faces and over-hooks. Next we moved onto 6 x 3 minutes of sparring: Round 1 - Curved knee clinch drill and one-for-one clinch sparring without gloves Round 2 - Muay Thai grappling (clinching without strikes) Round 3 - Ditto Round 4 - Clinching with strikes Round 5 - Ditto Round 6 - Freestyle The lesson finished with some static and PNF stretching. https://clubbchimera.com/services/
