19.08.2024 My couple client's eighth hour was a deeper dive into fighting off the ropes. We looked at particular areas of their individual games that required improvement and worked out games based on these objectives. One client wanted to work more keeping an opponent in the corner whilst maintaining a good defence. The other wished to focus more on in-fighting, dealing with the clinch. This resulted in the following 3-minute rounds:      

  1. Cornering game. Main client works to corner opponent whose objective is to escape. No contact.

  2. Ditto

  3. Clinching game. Main client works to turn their opponent and escape the corner.

  4. Ditto

  5. Jabbing to corner. Main client uses jabs and footwork to corner opponent. Opponent can only defend and seeks to escape.

  6. Fighting in the clinch. Main client fights to turn opponent into the corner. Opponent tries to pin in the corner.

  7. Hit and run in the corner. Main client fights from the outside to land as many shots in the corner as possible. Opponent can only counter from the corner.

  8. Clinch versus inside punching. Main client tries to land as many punches as possible in the clinch. Opponent can only clinch and seeks to stop said punches.

  9. Freestyle.

  10. Ditto.

  11. Ditto.
