At hour five of a 10-hour Boxing course and having just got through his first three-hour workshop, my teenage client is certainly making a lot of progress. We decided it was time to make an assessment of how he was getting on. I was interested to see how his range management had improved since the intensive training experience.


We covered the following 3-minute rounds:


  1. Jabs only sparring

  2. Lead hand only sparring

  3. Body shot sparring

  4. Jabs only to the head and jab/cross only to the body

  5. Straight punches to the body and hooks to the head

  6. Clinch fighting

  7. Free sparring


Through the body shot and clinching rounds, we looked at the basics on in-fighting and dirty boxing tactics.
