06.03.2024 Following my recent continued professional development weekend with Mo Teague's Training, Research and Development Group, I decided to incorporate some ideas into this 1.5 hour lesson. We looked at applying the heaven six drill into countering grips. This was performed first at long range, inside parrying to switching grip and wedge, and then in response to all actual grips. It was incorporated into achieving quarter, half and full nelsons first as a drill and then live. Specific sparring rounds included trying to achieve one of the three nelson holds to taking the back. Then we isolated attacking from the back (an area drilled over the weekend) and trying to achieve/prevent a takedown. All nelsons were also tested from the par terre position. Sparring was concluded with two three-minute rounds of Greco-Roman Wrestling. Although I like to keep my private lessons as focused on martial arts development as possible, this particular client has been with me for a 10 years now and also trains a lot of callisthenics. So, with this in mind, we prefaced our static and PNF stretching with 12 minutes of burpees, accumulating an extra burpee each round. This fitness test comparable to the bleep test was also a part of the TRDG weekend. https://clubbchimera.com/services/
