12.06.2023 My couple client had a two-hour lesson tonight bringing their training up to the seventh hour. Rather than focus just on their styles, we looked at the clinch and how they are getting on with grappling in general. We began with some simple positional drilling from collar/elbow and overhook/underhook before I brought in grip fighting then layered in foot sweeps and finally leg shoots. As light sparring progressed I used these untimed rounds as useful, organic teaching points. As soon as we arrived at a problem or opportunity, we drilled better responses or I taught new techniques. Areas included hip positioning when taking the back or getting a takedown; keeping both hands working throughout exchanges; ankle picks; why to always use a reverse seatbelt when sprawling; anaconda choke/gator roll. The lesson finished with some clinch-orientated full MMA sparring. I was very happy with the progress both students showed at this stage, fighting a good exchange of techniques from inside the clinch and on the ground. https://clubbchimera.com/services/
