MMA Combos & Ground-Guard Revision (diary entry)

26.01.2022 My junior client went back through the first two MMA combinations we trained last week before I introduced combination no. 3. Step back/right cross/double-jab/angle-off/switch to southpaw/right hook/double leg takedown All combinations were shadowed, drilled against partners and then put onto the focus mits. The lesson finished with 2 x 2 minute rounds of MMA sparring. My senior client went through closed guard, butterfly guard and long guard basics for sweeps and submissions. Then we sparred for 3 x 5 minute rounds (2 x specific guard-passing and 1 x free sparring from clinch).
