The third hour of my Friday night client's 10 hour Mixed Martial Arts course began with a review of the stand-up and clinch work we covered in the previous two lessons before introducing ground-fighting tactics. I also provided a simple proactive routine for my client to practise away from the class. We started with some simple boxing combinations, moved into Muay Thai/Kickboxing combinations and then used punches to set up the double leg takedown. The new material began from where a lot of double-legs end up: in the opponent's guard. From here we went through the cycle of body shots in safety position to posturing up with overhand punches to clearing the cover with hammer-fists and then back to the body. Next we went to the guard and I introduced the knee-shield transitioning into a single leg - the stand-up from guard MMA tactic. The lesson finished with a five minute round of shadow boxing. Here I put in some simple footwork, combination work and martial arts specific callisthenics. https://clubbchimera.com/services/
