Move the head!

My second lesson of the evening brought my teenage client up to the fourth hour his Boxing course. Tonight we went through all the material, but I especially focused on head movement both in defence and when executing attacks. We followed this routine


6 x 1 minute rounds - warm-up on the bag isolating continuous punches (jabs, hooks and uppercuts)


10 x 3 minute rounds


  1. One-for-one punches in a confined space

  2. Jabs only

  3. Defence vs attack

  4. Ditto

  5. Lead hand only

  6. Outside vs inside boxing

  7. Escape the corner (hit and don't get hit)

  8. Ditto

  9. Body shot sparring

  10. Free sparring
