12.05.2023 Friday morning brought my teacher client from USKO Cotswolds onto hour  six of his submission grappling/ground fighting course. We looked at defending the north south pin with two counters from dog-fight position. I also introduced an attack that we will continue with next lesson. The session began with the usual dynamic stretching, muscle activation and sport specific crawling exercises. Then we went back to our pattern base with the pin transitioning performed both as a muscle memory exercise and as a flow drill against resistance. I also had my client resist against the pattern. We then focused on the north south pin. From this position we looked at bridging, using the turtle as a transitional position and moving to the dog-fight position. Dog-fight puts two fighters side by side. In this position we covered a parallel sweep where the fighter shoots for the far knee and hooks the far foot before driving forward into side control. We also covered going to back-mount. The latter is achieved if the shoot is blocked low. Next, I introduced the Kimura key-lock. This was first done from a standing position and then we brought it into north south. Finally, we sparred for 2 x 3 minute rounds, attacking and defending pins. https://clubbchimera.com/services/
