Off the Wall (diary entry)

09.10.2024 My 1.5 hour client continued to work on combining his clinch range with stand-up. After working a fair amount on the wall, we decided that this element was taking a lot away from shoots and takedowns. Although the wall/fence/cage serves as a very important range in the sport of MMA, I noticed that too much of the action was going there at the expense of not progressing with the wrestling. My client warmed up on the heavy bags after an initial muscle activation/dynamic stretch. 2 minutes on the uppercut bag 2 minutes on the low kick bag We trained the following 3-minute rounds:

  1. Wrestling with MMA gloves

  2. Ditto

  3. Shoot boxing

  4. Ditto

  5. Shoot kickboxing

  6. Ditto

  7. Ground and pound

  8. Ditto
