Private Clients' June '25 Workshop

Friday's three-hour workshop looked deconstructing boxing behaviours, building better defences, counter-punching and intuitive footwork skills.


After a light warm-up and muscle activation, we did some mirror line-work to establish footwork and active guard/head mobility. Then we moved onto the following sparring rounds.


  1. Jabbing machine

  2. Jabs one-for-one

  3. Jab only sparring

  4. Lead hand only sparring

  5. No guard sparring

  6. Attacks vs guard defence only against the wall/ropes

  7. Attacks vs counters off the wall

  8. Foot-stepping sparring

  9. Foot-stepping with shoulder tag sparring

  10. Outside vs inside boxing

  11. Corner escape sparring (you must score without being hit before escaping)

  12. Toe-to-toe sparring

  13. Front foot vs back-foot sparring


Circuit (3-minute rounds)


  1. Heavy bag - technique first minute/speed second minute/power third minute - straight punches only

  2. Landmine bar - rotations first minute/single arm second minute/single arm second minute

  3. Heavy bag - technique first minute/speed second minute/power third minute - hooks and uppercuts


The lesson finished with static and PNF stretching exercises.
