Surfing the Hips (diary entry)

  23.04.2024 Hour eight of my client's Submission Grappling class focused on the three primary closed guard submissions  (attacks and defences): armbar, triangle choke and omoplata. These were covered in the following 2 minute specific sparring rounds:

  1. Escape or retaining guard

  2. Ditto

  3. Passing open guard

  4. Ditto

  5. Objective: back of leg around neck (armbar setup)

  6. Ditto

  7. Objective: inside leg around neck (triangle setup)

  8. Ditto

  9. Objective: inside leg on scapular angled attack only (omoplata setup

  10. Ditto

The lesson finished with five minutes of free sparring.
