My teenage client's Boxing course wrapped up on Thursday. For this lesson, we explored strategies and tactics for dealing with southpaw opponents and how an orthodox fighter should counter them. Our main focus was to create an angle against the left-handed opponent by keeping my client's lead foot on the outside. This positioning brings the rear hand closer, making it effective for jabbing. Meanwhile, the lead hand must be thrown from different angles than usual. Here, he utilised up-jabs and question mark uppercuts.
We structured all the rounds with different themes, gradually incorporating new techniques.
With his Boxing training now complete, we decided to transition to Kickboxing as the next step in his journey to learning Mixed Martial Arts. It is the next logical step. This will be another 10-hour course, combining Boxing punches with Muay Thai kicks and knee strikes.
