30.05.2023 Hour three of my client's Muay Thai course and we covered more work on the teep. Arguably the most important technique in Muay Thai and to the sport what the jab has become for Boxing. After our usual sports specific muscle activation, mobility and dynamic stretching exercises, we warmed up with 2 x 3 minute rounds of very light sparring (no protective equipment) where I demonstrated different teep variations in a live environment. I introduced the toe teep, a jabbing attacking version of the technique using the big toe to hit the bladder and solar plexus. It's a technique designed to sap an opponent's body of energy. Then we began looking at ways to set up teeps. This section began with a review of the shin-check/teep, which briefly tangented off into correct round kicking techniques. We then went back to using the teep as a range-find and then using punching combinations to set up teeps. I then brought in rear leg teeps using the same principle, followed by a lead teep/rear teep combination before we moved onto the jumping teep. For this, I began with a lead leg shin-check/rear teep combination. This was then changed into the bicycle method for delivering the jumping teep. We finished with a blend of teeps - double lead teep/punching combination/lead teep/feint lead teep/jumping rear teep. https://clubbchimera.com/services/
