Testing Weaknesses (diary entry)

16.01.2024 My couple clients were the first back into training after the three-hour workshop on Friday. Using what they discovered through all the live training, we isolated weaknesses and worked to improve these deficiencies through specific sparring. After some dynamic stretching we warmed up with five minutes of continuous flow sparring using low protection. Gloves were put on this time to encourage better flow with punches. Addressing the weaknesses, we completed the following three minute rounds of sparring giving each of the clients two spotlighted rounds: Round 1 - Defence for lead side southpaw to the head. Round 2 - Ditto Round 3 - Teep and jab only versus everything Round 4 - Shifting angles out of the pocket The breaks between the rounds were longer to provide time for a little drilling and discussion as well as tips and advice.
