07.03.2023 Hour two of my client's Muay Thai course looked at using the straight right. The Muay Thai straight right differs from Boxing in that it hits with a very slight downward arc and is delivered with a slightly flared elbow. It's purpose is to be used ahead of a clinch and we used it for this in the lesson. There are some obvious drawbacks. Firstly, the structure is not as strong and punchers report discomfort in the shoulder compared to the conventional straight or cross. Secondly, the conventional version can be easily used in Muay Thai without any obvious problems. The lesson finished with 4 x 3 minute rounds and sparring. Round 1 - Teeps and straight punching only Round 2 - Punching versus kicks Round 3 - Ditto Round 4 - Clinch only sparring https://clubbchimera.com/services/
